I was fortunate to be part of the animation team for HAIR LOVE working under the Direction of Matthew A. Cherry, Karen Rupert Toliver (Sony Animation), Bruce W. Smith (Bebe’s Kids, Proud Family, Disney) and Everett Downing (Blue Sky, Pixar, Netflix). Everett and I studied animation together at Columbia College Chicago so it was a thrill to finally work on a project together after all these years. And for that project to be an Oscar winning film is mindblowing!
Six Point Harness, the production studio for the film, was a joy to work with, allowing me to work remotely in Harmony from Minnesota. I provided traditional hand drawn animation and 6PH took it to a whole level of awesome!
Although my role was small in comparison to what Matthew, Karen, Bruce and Everett have done to make this beautiful story of a reality, I could not be more proud of the work we did together.
